Cookies and local storage

Esotool only uses cookies and storage that are necessary for authentication, security and features requested by the user. The current version does not use advertising or profiling cookies, or third-party audience measurement.

These mechanisms are not all cookies: the browser also provides persistent local storage and storage limited to the open tab.

• Authentication session — links requests to the signed-in account and protects access to the private workspace; the application session is limited to eight hours;
• Sign-in security — temporary state, nonce and PKCE verifier values used during sign-in to prevent replay and request forgery;
• Sign-out completion — an Esotool technical cookie retained for no more than five minutes to complete sign-out correctly.

The authentication service may set its own technical cookies during the sign-in process.

Under Esotool-specific keys, the browser may retain corrections to astrological interpretations and a working note associated with a calculation. This cache restores a draft on the same device and may therefore contain professional text entered by the practitioner.

This storage remains on the device until the user clears site data in the browser. On a shared device, users should clear site data after use and sign out.

When an assisted generation is launched, a random action identifier is kept in the tab's session storage to prevent duplicate credit use. It is removed when the action ends or when the tab is closed.

The cookies described above are strictly necessary for an explicitly requested service. They therefore do not require a consent banner. Information remains available on this page.

If Esotool later adds audience measurement, non-essential personalisation or advertising tracking, it will only be activated after a valid choice where consent is required.

Browser settings allow users to view and clear cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or use of the private workspace.
